We receive the love of God in our hearts as we move from fear to faith because faith works by love. We expect the best outcome because we know the unconditional love of God. Tribulations we experience produce patience and character. They also increase our faith in God. The love of God poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit strengthens our trust in God.
If we have ever felt disappointed, hoped for a relationship to be reconciled, someone we loved to be saved, or a need to be met but nothing changed; it not only diminished our hope at that time, it hindered our expectations for today. Instead of trusting all the way and hoping for the best, we find ourselves having a reservation and holding back our excitement because of fear that what we hope for might not come to pass. When we feel that way, we must pray for the Lord to reveal His love for us and receive His embrace anew. As we receive and believe the love of God, we walk in great expectation.
Even though some things might not happen the way we expect, we can trust the outcome to be better than anything we anticipated. We trust our God with our tomorrows, and surely can see His grace in our yesterdays. His love never fails. We can expect the unexpected, from glory to glory!
Romans 5:5 “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
