Our adversary, satan, is known as the accuser of the brethren. The accusations come to hinder our resting in the Lord. The stand we take when this type of fiery dart comes our way is the stand for who we are in Christ. At times nothing is said to us specifically, but we can sense a spiritual battle taking place. We resist by resting in the Lord with passion and a vision of His glory.
When accusations came against Jesus, He answered not a word. He easily could have blown the accusers away, but He said nothing. He is our example. The problem with defending ourselves is that we would never be able to stop. Because we believe our justification is in Him, we let the Lord be our defender. He lives to make intercession for us. Our Lord, who chose not to defend Himself, lives to defend us and He never fails, Hallelujah!
We are led by the Spirit of God and obey Him without knowing the details of His plan. We cannot explain to others what only can be understood spiritually. We trust the Lord and rest in Him to reveal His will, from glory to glory!
Psalm 62:2 “He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.”
