Intimidation is one of the ways the enemy tries to hinder the people of God from doing what the Lord is leading them to do. Intimidation means to persuade or dissuade by frightening; to frighten somebody into doing or not doing something. It creates a feeling of fear, awe or inadequacy in another person. It leads someone to look at themselves and be paralyzed by fear as their lives are threatened.
When we sense intimidation rising up, we quickly turn our focus on the Lord. He has not given us a spirit of timidity, or fear, but a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. We come against the spirit of fear. It is a spirit and we have the authority in the name of Jesus to command it to go. This spirit is not easily detected and oppression can come in quickly before people recognize and stand against it. This spirit of fear can also come with depression and when it controls the soul, it can be overwhelming.
At times when the spirit of fear is difficult to combat, the Spirit of Christ who dwells in us will raise us up in victory. The love, power and sound mind, we walk in will conquer all. Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. We do not have a spirit of fear… and we never have to receive one. We stir up the gift of God and move with boldness, from glory to glory!
2 Timothy 1:6-7 “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
