In order to become physically fit, a regular workout is necessary. It is the same in almost everything we undertake. A consistent practice of doing an activity enables us to excel. The key to pursuing what the Lord has placed in our hearts, is to simply begin.
Often times instead of doing something, we think of ways it can be done, or search what others have done. The greatest hindrance in accomplishing any task, is wasting time trying to figure out many other things pertaining to the task, but not getting around to the doing. Planning is important but should not be taken to such an extreme that it hinders fulfilling the project. Some directions only come as we progress. Improvement comes from movement. The talents we have been graced with by the Lord, should be stirred up as often as possible. Is it singing? Just sing. Writing? Just write. Building? Just build. Praying? Just pray. Looking for a better job? Let’s just do it. Each step lengthens into a walk towards our potential.
The leading of the Lord is always the most essential. Whatever we are told to do, let’s just do it. Then let’s do it consistently. Day by day it should be one of our priorities. Even if only for a short moment, let’s just do it. God teaches us and enables us to perfect what He begins, from glory to glory!
John 2:5 “His mother said to the servants, ‘Whatever He says to you, do it.’ ”
