When we are under spiritual attack continuously or unexpectedly, we can become irritated and frustrated. Unusual or excessive sensitivity to things around us can be stirred up very easily, and our awareness to this possible occurrence is important so we can yield to the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
The illustration of the formation of pearls gives us valuable insight on the shield we have in Christ. Pearls are formed inside the shell of oysters as a defense mechanism against harmful, threatening irritants such as a parasite, or an attack that injures the mantle tissue. The mollusk creates a pearl sac to seal off the irritation, using a substance from within. We are sealed with and by the Holy Spirit. He keeps the irritations from penetrating and injuring our hearts. We are protected in and through the love of God. What is irritating comes to hinder the anointing upon our lives. The Holy Spirit uses the anointing to secure the mantle we carry in Christ.
God embraces, comforts and covers us with His love. We have so much worth and are so valuable in Christ. We can celebrate every irritation today as He turns it into more glorification. Precious pearls are formed from adversities, from glory to glory!
Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
