Nothing is hidden from the Lord. When we think of hidden things, we may think of negative things; but it’s the positive things we want to meditate upon. What we do for Him, He sees even if no one else sees.
When He tells us to do something and we don’t obey Him, no one else may know, but He knows. What we say or don’t say that no else hears, He hears. God knows all that we do for Him, and from Him we will receive the reward of the inheritance. What is done in private is rewarded openly. When the motive of the heart is to do something in order to be seen or rewarded, the reward can be immediate, but fleshly. As a child of God, we do what we do heartily, without complaining, with great joy and passion. We do whatever He leads us to do as unto Him, irregardless of whether those around us see it or not.
To be hidden from the world, but seen by the Lord, is so much more fulfilling than being seen by the world but having no reward of our inheritance from the Lord. Integrity of character is often answered by the question: “What would we do if no one would ever know about it?” To ambassadors of Christ, the question is: “What do we do even if no one ever knows about it except the Lord?” That we answer: from glory to glory!
Colossians 3:23-24 “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”
