To abide in Christ means to continue, remain and stay in fellowship with Him. It brings fruitfulness in our life. We do not create fruit, we bear it; He is the vine, we are the branches. We need to hang in there. This is challenging for some as circumstances in our lives can pull us away from that place of intimacy.

It is by repeated acts of faith that we abide. We hang on to Him receiving His life by His grace. We do not let anything that comes our way move us away from that resting place. We are then able to handle all things, demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit. The more things try to pull us away, the more we don’t let them get in the way. Not only do we abide in Christ, He abides in us. Although at times we might depart from our abiding place, we cannot depart from Christ. He dwells in us and never leaves us nor forsakes us, so we learn to acknowledge and enjoy His presence.

We can’t look at other branches. We remain steadfast in the Lord. His love flows to and through us in increasing measure. Our abounding in the abiding increases His anointing, from glory to glory!

John 15:4-5 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
