When the children of Israel were trapped at the Red Sea with their enemies behind them and no breakthrough in sight, they were told by God to go forward. It’s as they went forward obeying God’s instructions that the Red Sea parted. In our walk of faith there are some steps we need to take for our breakthroughs to come.
It’s difficult to go forward when some things are pursuing us and there is no clear way ahead of us. We don’t have the rod Moses had, but we have the authority in the name of Jesus to command obstacles to move, seas to part, and everything to come into subjection to the ruling of our King. Jesus is with us to bring the impossible. The only way we can go forward is by experiencing the reality of the presence of the Lord. He is alive and He is with us. We don’t have to fear what’s coming after us because His presence has gone ahead to make every crooked place straight. Going forward doesn’t always make sense when there is no visible way and the enemy is applying pressure.
Even after we take the first step and go forward, we need to continue to go forward step-by-step, without questioning what is to come but trusting the way will be made clear. The children of Israel must have been wondering if the water was going to stay parted. They had to stay focused on the dry ground, and walk forward in their breakthrough. Let us go forward, one step at a time, from glory to glory!
Exodus 14:15-16 And the LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.”
