He had been waiting many years for the woman he knew was going to be his wife. In his daily prayers he surrendered the relationship to the Lord asking for His will to be done. Time was passing quickly and the young lady still didn’t respond to his courting. When he asked the Lord to remove his desire for her from his heart, it remained and became even stronger. Anger, doubt and sadness began to fill his heart. God, why did you put this desire in my heart for her if she is not the one? God should I still wait? Hope? Pursue?
What he needed was to recognize and remove his unforgiveness towards God, and to freely open his heart for God to move. Whether it’s a relationship, business, ministry or an endeavor, questions may come forward when what we believed God for doesn’t happen or when the way it happens differs from our expectations. Seeds of unforgiveness towards God are not easily detected. Like all forgiveness, it’s attained by abiding in God’s unconditional love. The moment we forgive love abounds and brings rest in our souls.
We trust Him for every outcome as we walk by faith, not by sight. Time is not a factor. We rest in His ability to bring about the best for us, and for His will to be done as He works all things together for good. Our part is to love Him relying on His care, from glory to glory!
Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
