The Spirit of God is empowering us to make an extra effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Because of the anointing that comes from unity and the greater works God has purposed to do through us, this endeavoring is increasing for such a time as this. Endeavoring means to exert ourselves to do or affect something; make an effort; strive; to attempt earnestly; endeavor to succeed; to be diligent and prompt.
As we focus on maintaining unity, we stand against the wiles of the enemy with power and might. The enemy’s primary plan is to divide, separate or isolate the people of God. We do not war against flesh and blood. Instead of quickly battling one another, we have to make an extra effort to stand together. The literal translation of the word division is to divide the vision. The enemy cannot succeed and is being pushed back as we are resisting him, in unity and fresh anointing.
As we pursue peace and pray for one another, more is accomplished than our natural sight can perceive. We are watching and covering one another. We look out and pray for protection for one another. How grateful we can be for the love and peace of God that keeps us close to one another, inseparable. There may be opposition against every effort we make, but we can trust the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to manifest, from glory to glory.
Ephesians 4:1-3 “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
