In taking thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ, we find that when the first thought is captured it will not lead to another. It’s a chain reaction, a sequence of reactions. If there are too many links in the chain, it can be difficult to pinpoint the lie. Our thoughts come in reaction to a situation, but they can be filtered through a wound from our past and be inaccurate. As we seek to walk in truth, we can trust the Holy Spirit to set us free.
Ungodly mindsets are removed as our mind is being renewed by the Word of God. Thinking on the truth of the Word takes the lie captive and removes it. Although we have the mind of Christ, our carnal mind has been used for so long that it comes forth naturally and hinders the release of the supernatural. As we continue to meditate on what is truth, the supernatural becomes the natural, helping us walk in our divine identity.
If we find ourselves in a battle in our minds, we should ask the Lord to reveal and heal the thought that started it all. When we meditate on what the truths of the Lord untangle, the linked lies and chains are broken, from glory to glory!
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.”
