Spiritual maturity is known by the degree in which Christ is seen in and through our character and behavior. The abundant life we have in the Lord is increasing as we turn to the Lord and behold His glory.
As our character is being transformed into His, we bear fruit in increased measure. The growth pertains to our divine identity, who we are—not what we do; what we do flows out of who we are. Our spiritual potential has to be at the center of all our pursuits. As we spend time with the Lord reading the Word and worshiping, we seek and find Him. We gaze upon Him and get to know who He is. We do not see the Lord as we are, but as He is, with our hearts filled with love and faith. Nothing can separate us from His love.
When we turn to the Lord, we turn away from our ways and surrender humbly to His ways and His will. Veils that separated us from seeing Him as He is are removed. The Holy Spirit reveals, heals and leads us to behold, as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord. Because the veil has been lifted from our eyes, we can look unto the Lord and in doing so, we are changed into the same image, from glory to glory!
2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
